Colour is an integral part of design. During the first week we were surprised (and I was delighted) to get a colour assignment. In this exercise we are given the colours and the sketch. It was somewhat uncomfortable as this was the very first time I made an 8 1/2 x 11 layout. My first attempt was a 2-page layout (of course, I really do not follow direction!) but then I felt like I had "cheated" so I went back and made a second layout more closely following the instructions!
Layout: Piece of Work
Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: We R Memory Keepers; Chipboard: Scenic Route; Ink: Colour Box; Flowers: Bazzill; Brads: Queen & Co.; Buttons: Autumn Leaves; Floss: Bazzill; Font: my handwriting
Journaling: "5 October 2008 My dearest Chloé, being your mother is a challenge and a joy. You've just entered grade four and you are enjoying your first year in the junior school. You're an excellent student with a bunch of friends and lots of enthusiasm for learning and fun. Which is good because on the flip side you save all of your other charms for home: messy room, unkept hair, many piles of stuff, crazy clothing combinations! You are, indeed, my much loved ... piece of work"
Layout: Life with Louis (By the Numbers)
(It really is brighter in person ...)
Cardstock: Bazzill; Felt Flowers: American Crafts; Ribbon, Buttons, Brads: Stash; Font: Arial
