October LOAD: Catch Up

I can't believe I've forgotten to share my layouts here on TypePad! I'm realizing that it often takes more time to take the shot, crop it, upload it and share it than it does to make an actual layout. Craziness! I'm actually pretty pleased that I've managed to keep up with making a layout every day. Nineteen days straight, so far, and no sign of slowing down ... no way I can ever run out of photos, or supplies!

LOAD Layouts: Catch Up

I've been participating in the May LOAD challenge, hosted by the lovely Lain Ehmann, but I have not been as consistent as I was in February. May, it turns out, has been a busy month! Here are the layouts - not yet posted - I've managed to complete:

 

 

 

I am leaving for Cape Cod with a few good girlfriends. I won't be posting until I return, and even then, probably not until the first week of June. I'll be with a number of creative and talented ladies and fully expect this blog to be re-energized upon my return.

Layout: Social Butterfly

I received these incredible Prima butterflies in my scrapbook.com order last week. I was thrilled to get a chance to use them so quickly - before I forgot about them! And, aren't these printed papers delicious? I'm really enjoying the gcd lines and you can never go wrong with Autumn Leaves - even the B sides!

A grad dress and a skateboard.

Nothing like a shopping bag filled with opposites!

After a quick trip to the bank to re-activate her debit card, Claire and I headed off to the mall - her favourite place, not mine - for this, her last day of Spring Break. She had a long list all printed off, and colour coded. We picked up necessities like underwear and the grad dress and extras like the skateboard and her 101st hoodie.

She's thrilled. I'm exhausted. Overall, a good afternoon.

I was really enjoying my delusion.

My little girl is such a sweet, helpful, kind and thoughtful young woman. My little girl who was always smiling, with her bright blue eyes, big crooked grin. She was not going to be taken over by the emotional, mercurial, angry, daemons of adolescence. Damn it. She. Was. Not.

What an outburst! It would have been comical if it weren't so heartfelt.

Around here the children are expected to participate. In this case it was the simple request to unload and re-load the dishwasher. Holy smokes. The reaction at 3:30PM from my daughter who had slept until noon - with no mama-intervention, was not expected. At. All.

Look out family, we're in for a bumpy ride!
