Slice of Life: 3/20

Cole's hockey team hasn't even clinched the Ontario hockey title yet and there is already political posturing. Misinformation and talk designed to undermine the confidence of the parents and the players abounds. It is a really terrible aspect of the game - the off ice game.

I want to skip over the next six weeks of tryouts and just start over.

Why can't the process be more transparent? More optimistic? More kind? More based on the quality of product (players) than relationships (parents)? I know it has always been this way. Why is it perpetuated?

We are off, to what will hopefully be Cole's final game of the season. It is a best of 5 series and the boys have won 2. Tonight may be it. They are such a great group of kids, I really hope they manage to pull this off.
