12 of 12 Challenge

12 of 12: January

This is my 12th time participating in the 12 of 12 Challenge. Up until now, I have just taken photos; this is the FIRST time I've managed to turn my day into a layout. I am thrilled with the results; I had only a mish-mash of ideas whirling around in my head and no plan or specific design in mind.

12 of 12: A new start

A couple of years ago (I think it's been that long!), the great Cathy Zielske mentioned this 12 of 12 idea on her blog. As an idea it registered, but I didn't do anything about it. Then, last February, Benita offered a challenge (on a message board I used to frequent) and I figured, why not? So, since last February, on my L2L blog, I have participated in a monthly 12 of 12 challenge. I've kept up with the challenge, not the board; lesson:  always keep the good, eh?

This is supposed to be a layout challenge and I've often regretted not taking the time to get my act together. The "A Week In The Life" project was a collection of seven consecutive days worth of 12 of 12s so, if I can get that done, why not this?

Yesterday I designed the "look" I wanted for this year and proceeded to put together "Month Kits" - with embellishments and design elements - so when I do my FIRST 12 of 12 for 2009 - TOMORROW, I will be able to scrapbook it and post it almost immediately, and the same for the remaining eleven months of the year.

Love it when a plan comes together.

    I can't "toot" loud enough to let you know how fantastic this online resource is: tons of product, great prices, FAST shipping - a week quicker than any other US online retailer. Love them, love them, love them. If you have to pay duty and taxes I'd rather pay it quick than have to wait for the privilege!
  • Forever Scrapbooks
    Located a few kms away in Burlington. Great when I need something quick, I can usually find it here.
  • Pages In Time (Michigan)
    A bit of a hike, but well worth the trip if you happen to be in Michigan.
  • Pick of the Patch (Port Coquitlam, BC)
    Fantastic monthly kit, look forward to opening it each month. It always includes something I can't find locally.
  • Scrapbooks By Design (Toronto)
    Fabulous place, but the website does take f.o.r.e.v.e.r. to load.
  • The Crafty Scrapper (Texas)
    Oh my, a feast for the eyes, your fingers get itchy just walking in the front door, so much stuff to behold. Located in Waxahatchie, Texas it's a bit far, good thing they have a website and decent shipping!
