CLEAR THE CLUTTER
My nemesis is clutter. I have spent a lot of time organizing, labeling and making sure everything in my house has a proper spot. My favourite project this year was installing drawer systems in all of the big full-of-useless-space in my kitchen. It has completely changed the way the kitchen looks and functions. Bliss.
I often moan and groan over the abundance of paper piles in my house. They seem endless. They are just so visible. And they are all still there. This time, I decided to continue with what has worked and go behind closed doors and focus on another area that desperately needed help.
The assignment: take 10 minutes and tackle that job that has been bothering you.
The linen closet is a disaster. I should say was a disaster.
This project took significantly more than 10 minutes but it was worth it!
I took out all of the pillowcases and sheets - fitted and flat - and the douvet covers and towels and pillows and blankets and washed everything. Then I folded everything. Properly. As a primer, I rewatched the Martha Stewart video on how to fold a fitted sheet and then put together all of the Queen sized sets together and King sized sets together in their coordinating pillow cases. All of the shelves are labelled and everything has been put away properly.
This was a BIG project. Truly exhausting. I've decided that I really don't like removing, washing, folding, replacing linens - certainly not all at one time! To keep things orderly I think I'll find out if it would be cost effective to bring my sheets to the local laundry each week and have them deal with the folding of fitted sheets!

Like Bree Hester, I believe you choose to be happy. Sure there are bad (out of your control) things that happen, but how you handle them is completely up to you. Your choices are your responsibility - there is no blame, no shame, no nothing but accountability. Your attitude is your decision. I choose to be happy. Happy within the context of not wearing the proverbial rose-coloured glasses or any expectation that those who populate my life have made the same choice :) Last October, Bree put together 31 DAYS TO A HAPPIER YOU and, armed with her PDF, I'm using March - that dreary time between winter and spring that seems to drag on forever - to make the conscious choice to be happy every day this month!
