Eighteen consecutive days. That is how long my three high- and middle-school kids are out for spring break. That is a lot of time to fill at a time when the weather is being typically, well, March. But they deserve a break as they worked very hard this past term. It might be the shortest term but it is also the most intense with two of them just finishing up their parts in the school play.
Unlike last year we have no grand plans for another big cruise! But, we do have plans ...
. attending a couple of plays in Toronto
. attending a concert or two
. going to the new Ripley's aquarium
. a few days in Florida
. catching up on some reading and assignments
. a trip to Kingston, as Claire's schedule allows
. visits with cousins
. starting B-School
. introducing the kids to yoga and meditation
Hmm, upon further reflection, it looks like we'll have plenty to occupy our time!
Essentially, every year, my life goes on hold while the kids are home on break - spring and otherwise. It's like having toddlers again! Except, this year, I think there will be a lot of sleeping and lazy days. I hope so! All of my kids work so hard at school it's good for them to relax with the same intensity.
What do you do on school break?
