The idea of the 12 of 12 is to record a regular day. Yesterday was not a regular day. It was Mother's Day - a very big day! Every year, for the last 15, we've gone to my parents home in Toronto where my kids get a chance to see all the sisters and cousins and everone else! It's a wonderful event and I really enjoy the tradition.
Here is a glimpse into the day:
The kids (Claire) made a lovely breakfast and served it to me in bed. I wasn't allowed out of bed and waited for them to finish what they were doing down in the kitchen. It was a lovely "surprise" :)
All I really needed was some coffee and Advil. Between my allergies and "Spring Fling" at Appleby a bit of OTC care was in order!
Michelle, Claire's friend from school, stayed overnight. Most of the morning was spent getting ready for our day. By 10:30AM everyone cleared out of the house so we could head into Toronto for family-filled afternoon.
I am getting better at having photos taken! I really love this phone-photo of Claire and I. She took me out earlier in the week and insisted that I get myself some new clothes - that included colour.
It was a weird weather day with the conditions changing from one minute to the next. We saw sunshine and hail and everything in between. The wind was incredible. I don't think it let up all day long.
Dinner was Yame takeout.
Homework never ends! Sometimes there is a blur between work and play, but he usually works when on his computer.
My coach uses this game and I thought it would be fun to have one here at the house. Because sometimes it's just necessary, I had the package shipped to my sister in Virginia a couple of months ago. She brought it up to the party. YAY!
I think I might have the only member of the Big League Blue Jays team who is willing and able to sew up a rip in her baseball pants.
Cold? That is a huge understatement! Claire's baseball season started with a game against the Athletics. I'd love to say I knew the score, but it was so flipping cold, (even with a blanket, coat, fleece, gloves and hat!) I wimped out and went and waited for the game to end in the dry and warm comfort of the truck.
The end of the year is close. Caden spent his evening diligently making study notes. Well, with a few interruptions by the hockey game - the Leafs beat Boston. No riot - much to his disappointment!
Big hugs and kisses from my girl, Chloé to end my day.
So many wonderful memories made. A normal not-normal 12th of the month :)
