1. It was a cold morning as I got the youngers into the truck and off to school for the LEAF (Learning, Evaluation, Assessment, Foundations) Program of the day. They do this in lieu of Christmas exams. Today Caden is off to the Science Centre and Chloé has a creative writing program to attend.
2. Conjugating verbs in the truck on the way to school, in preparation of his French exam. I don't know if it did Cole any good. My kids may have a Quebecois surname, but they don't have an ear for the language!
3. I got home and got onto daily chores - first order of business, empty the dishwasher.
4. I'm so happy to have the glass for the new shower arrive, early! I'm still a bit breathless at the cost of glass, but wow, is it ever fantastic.
5. No exams for Claire today. She caught up on some much needed sleep and then took herself to the Eaton Centre in Toronto to find the elusive winter coat. Claire is not as tall as I am, but she did inherit my crazy long arms. It is really hard to find a good fit. I wished her good luck and dropped her off at the GO station. (Yes, she was successful. The coat is fabulous!)
6. Evidence that Wanda has been here is always the Twinnings Earl Grey tea bags in the sink.
7. Home from his French exam - results questionable; and his Vocal exam - results expected to be spectacular, Cole treated himself some BBQ ribs.
8. Danny came over to discuss some changes that have to be made to the security system. They'll be back today to fix us up!
9. Claire's friend Jess joined us for dinner. It's always a treat to have her here at the house - she really is a most welcome new member of our family. The girls have become such good friends and I have my fingers crossed that this bond lasts a lifetime.
10. Never did I ever expect to walk into a dance studio with Cole. I mean, never. Things change. I'm glad we are both open to the possibilities. Miss Sarah has much confidence in his promise, as does he. Me? I use my hour to sit and write out my "to do" list in a place with no distractions.
11. The evening crap-collection! The main floor has been picked up and all of the shoes, coats, books, and other ephemera moved to where it all belongs. What an exhausing process - not the actual doing, but the negotiating!
12. I ended my day watching the Barbara Walters "Most Fascinating Person" show. I got into it late. Do I agree with the final choice? No. Does it matter? No. The whole collection of people are interesting and I enjoy the brief glimpses into their lives, this show and all those before it.
I know that today was an auspicious 12th, but in keeping with my project, I went with it simply being another 12th of the month that I am able to share with my children and record as I always do. So happy to continue with this project.
