At the end of August, to celebrate the launch of her new virtual home, Tiffany Moore asked a number of her favourite bloggers to answer some BIG questions. I have been looking for a challenge and decided to take a stab at this particular exercise.

What is your mark to leave on this world?
It may sound cliché, but I hope to leave this world better than I found it.
I've made a conscious effort to change what is easy - lots of "use less": use less water, use less gas by maintaining good tire pressure, move to a modest sized home and use less energy to run it, purchase energy efficient appliances, turn off lights, buy less stuff, eat meals from scratch with clean food, maintain our health with regular visits to the doctor, dentist and naturopath, keep things organized and tidy so things can be found the first time. You know, do my bit, and teach my kids to do their bit.
I've made a conscious effort to change what is challenging - familial behaviours have been acknowledged, addressed and are changing - for the better. So far. I want to set up and model a pattern of positive communication, maintain reasonable expectation, encourage displays of kindness and affection, express to each of my children that even with the complete absense of their father they are enough, show the incredible strength that can be found in owning your vulnerability and being okay with showing yourself to the world for exactly who you are - a work in progress.
My mark? It will be small, but I hope it will resonate through generations and become huge, in time.
