Cole is one of those kids who needs a constant challenge. It used to be sports: baseball, hockey, lacrosse, rugby; but, since a concussion sidelined him he's had to choose other outlets for his competitive and creative spirit.
Always comfortable in front of a crowd, Cole has been taking acting lessons since the new year. He was asked to join in a play that took place this week:
He played the "hunk" groundskeeper - complete with a Scottish accent - in a play his instructors wrote and directed. It was so good! That they could go from nothing to a full blown production on the Oakville Centre stage in three weeks is amazing! It was made even more funny when he and his "love interest" realized that she is in her second year of university and he's just a minor-niner. Ah, the lessons in acting!
Those lessons include:
1. Quick deadlines encourages focus and team spirit
2. What we see on stage has no relation to reality
3. You can be whatever you want - it's all about attitude
I can't wait to see what other adventures - and lessons - hold await him. This has been a particularly stressful year for my boy and I'm very happy that he's found a place that is comfortable for him with people who are kind and supportive and fun.
