I have always found the Becky Higgins Project Life to be really appealing but didn't know how I could possibly:
- Manage the ephemera
- Find the time to keep up
- Justify the cost - Canadian costs are always ginormous
Each week I've seen blog entries from Ali Edwards, Monica McNeill, Liz Tamanaha and Marcy Penner, all living full and active lives. I visit the Project Life community on occasion, also filled with people with active and full lives. The reality is, I have no excuses!
Recently I came to the realization that this is the perfect time to gear myself up and record our time, right now. We are on our journey to find our new normal and there is lot of change underway. I'll figure out how to manage the (lack of) ephemera, I'll find the time to take photos and record our stories and I'll rationalize the cost.
Last week, I signed onto amazon.com only to find out that the products couldn't be shipped to Canada. I then discovered via BeckyHiggins.com that I could order the materials from Scrapbookers Inner Circle located in Alberta. Bonus? Free shipping for orders over $80!
Any day now I expect to receive:
and I knew I'd need some of these, so I ordered two:
All of these cards, filled with stories, combined with photos and the (dreaded) ephemera, will go into these pages:
and these, too:
I have a ton of other protectors, so I can always supplement with more if I need more. I got enough to get me started.
For those familiar with the program you'll notice that no, I did not buy the "new" offerings for this year. Two reasons: they weren't available on the site at the time I ordered and, more important, I've never been sucked into the theory that new = better, it's just newer :)
There is a new digital option, and Becky Higgins announced other big news yesterday, but I really want this to be a tactile experience for me. I miss that part of scrapbooking and this may be the way to keep me engaged - in an orderly manner now that I no longer have a huge craft room to contain my creative messes!
What about you? Do you participate in a Project Life project? What have you learned from it?
