I love the internet. I enjoy the ease with which I can collect information: see and read about things to which I would never otherwise be exposed. I also love how I can combine my internet love with my more tactile love of books and albums. This is something I've wanted to do for a long time, so instead of just thinking about it, I'm doing something. Whoot!
This past December, I participated in two activities: December Daily - which is not yet completed, but almost; and, #reverb10 which proved to be challenging and rewarding in it's imperfection.
Mid-way through the month I was already mourning it's loss. After all, once the month was over there would be no need to visit my mini-blog again and all of that thought and effort would be lost. Then I got the bright idea that this would be the perfect project to accumulate those challenges and stories in an album. Not a typical photo album, but an album made up mostly of words. A bit of a change for me.
This is how it turned out:
In order to even things up a bit since I didn't want any articles split, I added in a few of my favourite photos - as long as they indicated something reflective, or the idea of a journey.
MATERIALS:
Album: American Crafts Cloth Album 8x8
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics White Orange Peel
Font: Verdana
[In answer to Cheri in the comments: I did this the old-fashioned way, cut-paste-cut-paste. Into Word, not even into PSE!]
I included every page since I figured it was best to show the album in it's entirety. (I'm always wondering what's missing when I see only album experpts on other blogs.) I know many of the pages look the same, but the content is different. If you click on any of the photos and they should enlarge in another window, failing that, if you have trouble reading, head on over to read the original entries. This is the perfect word-capture of my life, right now. As we head into a new decade I'm happy I took the time to slow down and absorb it all in a more reflective and meaningful way.
Alas, my cold is still with me and this is about the extent of what I could create today - take and edit photos! (I didn't even remember to put in a materials list, thanks for the reminder, Cheri!) Thanks to everyone who sent along a cold cure here and on Facebook! I am overdosing on Vitamin C and sleep. I hope to be back tomorrow. Happy Wednesday all :)
