I don't know if you've ever received an e-mail out of the blue, from someone you admire - a rock star, a crush, an actor, a writer, a lecturer, an artist - in my case, a talented album maker; it's a thrill.
Recently I've received three e-mails and they've all left me with a sense of disbelief followed immediately with the need to print or frame or make a page or honour in some way. One writer and two album makers sent notes to me. Each one of them actually took the time to find my e-mail and send me a note. They even knew my name, not "linarstudio". Hello? These are busy people, people!
There must be some kind of shift in the universe. A happy wrinkle in time.
Or maybe it's because I put myself out there to express how much I admire their work. Maybe by expressing my genuine interest in what they do, how they do what they do and why they do what they do and how it effects and inspires me, resonated with them in some way.
I am learning that good things come to you when you put yourself out there. Expecially when you put yourself out there with zero expectation. Sure, some comes back and bites you in the butt - good thing mine is ample - but if you are genuine you have no worries.
What "celebrity" blogger intimidates you the most? Pioneer Woman? Brené Brown? Dooce? Gwyneth Paltrow? Ali Edwards? Danielle LaPorte? Even a non-celebrity-but-should-be blogger? Have you told them how they inspire you? You will feel so good leaving a piece of yourself for them to read. I know for sure they will feel good hearing from you, too.
So with that, go forth and leave love!
