Not a storm really, just a whirlwind of activity!
I am typing this out in anticipation of not being back here for a while. I haven't even post-dated posts. Indeed, life has snuck up on me even when I don't do anywhere near what most of you do in anticipation of the holidays!
Over the next couple of days I have a few things I must get done, many over-and-above the usual Christmas activites.
Christmas-y stuff:
- Wrap and deliver the gifts I made for my best girlfriends in anticipation of our lunch today - which, as it turns out was yesterday. (I showed up late, and empty handed. This situation must be remedied!)
- Wrap and deliver gifts to those ladies I want to wrap and deliver gifts to ... and to both hockey coaches (which may end up being New Years gifts at the rate I'm going!)
- Put together the annual Gingerbread House with the kids.
- Make freezer cookies!
- Buy/make tourtiere for Christmas Eve and pick up a Roast Beast for Christmas dinner. Organize all of the fixings!
- Make "gift card ornaments" for the kids (remember to take photos and show you!)
Non Christmas-y stuff:
- Take Cole and his teammate Sean to powerskating (if Cole's leg is better. I hope so!)
- Attend last regular season game of the 2010 year: Rangers vs Grey Bruce on Thursday evening. Make sure to bring the "easy button". Last Hound Dog game is tonight at 16 Mile and bring along the cowbells!
- Take Claire to timekeeping and her friends houses for holiday related events.
- Take Caden and Cole to the Bronte Marsh to play pond hockey. Perhaps organize a game for a group of them.
- Take truck to Louis' friend AC for service. Grr. Clarification: Grr truck, not AC.
- Keep up with #reverb10 prompts and my December Daily project.
- Keep up with AND POST Picture the Holidays over on BPC!
- Clean and organize guest room in anticipation of arrival of three (1995) hockey players from Norway who arrive on December 26th and will billet with us through the 30th for the Richard Bell Memorial Hockey Tournament.
- Plan to join Cathy Z and her Move More, Eat Less project on her blog, on Flickr and via Designer Digitals
- Create 5 layouts for various design team assignments.
- Sharpen skates every day the boys are on the pond! (Note to anyone with the romantic idea about pond skating - it's murder on blades!)
- Figure out who won the calendar offer on the blog AND GO TO THE POST OFFICE. I'm so far behind and can only apologise to anyone waiting for me to get my act together.
- Continue my digital detox before my MacBook Pro explodes.
- Follow my list and clean each room in the house. Seriously top to bottom.
- Pre-make all to-be-frozen-food in anticipation of our guests and very limited time each day to feed them.
- Parent any child who feels like I'm not loving them enough.
- Laundry
- Buy and consume wine
Sadly, I know there's a whole slew of things I've not listed - like call my family, call more family, pick up last minute XYZ, Christmas morning movie plans, head to church, make plans for the Moe, make plans for the Cade-man, I hope to be back in the swing of things before the New Year. To share my "word" for 2011. To let you know about what I've been working on. To engage you in ideas, courses and plans that might be appealing.
But, until then, I have to let go of here to deal with everything else.
Happy happy, merry merry, and I'll be back when I can. Hugs to all :)
