At the end of September I received the most delightful and unexpected news that I was chosen, with eleven others, to be an Ella Friend. I am still quite giddy over it. What an incredible honour! Since then I've had the privilege to get to know these ladies and I greatly enjoy visiting them via their blogs whenever they have an opportunity to take some time from their full and busy lives to share what's going on with them.
The Ella Friends group is super with an appealing collection of diverse talent and personalities. I have learned so much from each one of my new friends. In addition to being visually inspired they each have life lessons to teach, my heart is full.
Who doesn't want to be included in a group like that? The best part? YOU can be inspired them, too! Not only will each of us be contributing our ideas and projects on the Ella Publishing Co. blog, the monthly eZine and in the incredible eBooks; but, if you haven't had a chance to click on my sidebar to visit each of them, be sure to click on the links below:
Today, as a group, we are celebrating friendship. Not only am I grateful for the opportunity to get to know and be a part of the Ella Friends group, I have a wonderful group of women in my life who I am honoured to call friend:
You know the phrase "birds of a feather"? Well, I would flock with these chicks anywhere.
For a self-professed loner, I am so very fortunate to have close girlfriends who are so totally different from each other; but similar in all the ways that count:
They tell me like it is with strong, kind opinions; they laugh a lot and make me laugh with the m; they face life head-on, the good and the bad, and there's been plenty of both; they provide perspective and the occasional shoulder to cry on.
On top of all that great stuff, each is super smart, open-minded, kind-hearted, loyal, generous of spirit, fierce, strong-willed, funny, happy, self-aware, decent, respectful, independent, resilient, creative, optimistic, adventuresome, patient and upbeat.
I am very lucky to have them in my life and thank them as often as I can!
What about you? Have you honoured your friends in a layout, photo frame, mini book? The layout above was created last year and when I was re-typing the words, I am happy to admit, I wouldn't have changed one word if I were writing it today. Though life has gotten in the way of my keeping in touch with a couple of the ladies, I know that if we had a chance to have lunch or go out for a glass of wine, we'd do so on a heartbeat and pick up right where we left off - with a couple of more stories and lots of laughter!
Hey! That's exactly what I'm going to do. Call them all and do just that. Time for lunch :)
