PEN TO PAPER : Can capturing the magic of summer truly be as simple as putting pen to paper? If I make sure to jot down the details and happenings will I have all kinds of treasures to scrapbook later on?
I have recently been doing some paper purging and organizing and realized that in "the old days" I really thought I would remember the fun little things that make our life, our life. The silly things my kids do and say. I am sad to report that I have failed. I never wrote many things down. I can remember events and things that happened but I cannot remember much of the accompanying words. I remember the "gist" just not the words verbatim. I am sad at the loss.
Maybe I can, with some help, remember the advent of such family sayings as : "Hagarella", "kinda sketchy, mama", and "you've crossed the line, buddy" - which is immediately followed by the kids breaking out in song "you've crossed the line, you've crossed the line, mama's gotcha, you've crossed the line", hysterical! There are so many more family sayings that are inherent to our experience and funny bone!
With May Flaum's encouragement, I have put together my summer journaling kit. It actually meshes well with my new and improved approach to album making, though, I believe the summer months will be extended - enough that they may end up in an album of their own with everyone so busy.
