Well, not really, but of all my four children, Cole is the most active in a photograph-friendly way. This is how he makes his way onto the blog so often! I will somehow manage to get Claire, Chloe and Caden equally represented, but right now?
It's about Cole.
It's about rugby.
Yesterday was the first game of the season. Appleby vs Trinity College School. The final score was 47-0. In that score, Cole contributed 7 points (a try) and many incredible tackles for which I have no clue the proper term!
See him, there? #8? Trying to take down a tree-trunk? Yep, that's my boy.
Got him! Do you see the hand? In the middle of the shot? It's attached to my son. Under the tree trunk!
Yes, boys, please, move away. Let's see what's underneath. A pancake?
Oh my!
I don't know if this is really a sport. It seems more like a battle!
Mind you, at some point during the game Cole did manage to tackle a kid and not only dislocate his shoulder, but he broke his arm. Well, he didn't break his arm, the kid landed awkwardly and the arm broke.
I don't know if I can take much more of this, and this was the first game!
I don't know if I want him to take much more!
By 8PM the bruises were clearly visible and he has a bit of a black eye. Battle wounds. He had a nice long soak and took himself off to bed. So much for his science homework! Kind of glad I didn't toss him on the ice as he was supposed to do, that would have been plain mean.
When asked if he enjoys rugby, his response: "LOVE it!". My response? Save me!
Between rugby and it's equipment-heavy cousin, football, I could spend a lot of time with bandages, gauze and polysporin this summer!
