my day has gotten away from me!
Hard to believe, but we were able to sleep in today. Sleep in being a relative term. Once I cleaned up the kitchen, which was sorely neglected last night, and made some coffee, put in a pork shoulder for pulled pork sandwiches tonight and was interrupted as I saw this out the window:
then I woke up my boys. They quickly scarfed down some breakfast as Caden was off to an exhibition game at Kinoak and Cole was invited to practice with the local triple A hockey team. I dropped Cole off only to realize Caden was responsible for snacks at his game so headed back across town with a quick stop at Fortino's to pick up marshmallow squares and juice packs. I managed to catch the last half of his game and had a lovely conversation with one of the dads who turns out to be a writer - in his spare time while he commutes back and forth to Toronto every day. Once I got home I sent him a few blog links that might be helpful. While gone, Chloe called worried that as she woke up she was home alone, I assured her that Claire, for the first time in weeks, was home and not timekeeping. With relief she went back to sleep.
The day continued much along those lines ...
Now we're enjoying the Super Bowl with friends. Well, Caden isn't here because he's playing hockey. And one of the kids belonging to our friends was just dropped off at his game.
But those of us still here have enjoyed pulled pork, chili and chicken wings. We're looking forward to a great game and brownies with ice cream for dessert.
Enjoy your night!!
